I found this little gem in an album store in Traverse today. The album is Ain’t Misbehavin’ by “Fats” Waller. I honestly cannot believe I found this. It was printed in 1956, 13 years after Fats passed away from bronchial pneumonia. Features hits such as “Honeysuckle Rose,” “Your Feet’s Too Big” and “Ain’t Misbehavin’.” I honestly love his music. For a reference; it’s mainly composed of 20’s and 30’s “saloon” piano (as I can best put it) and brass elements with his aged, coarse voice on a few of his tracks. WAY TOO PSYCHED. Plus, Jess and I shared our first dance to the song “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love, Baby.” It’s been a great day, if I do say so myself.
Love this show! It’s actually my moms favorite musical. My dad pulled out his album and played it over the speakers so we could hear it on the deck last summer. It was great!
Also, I can’t help but crack up every time I hear “Your feet’s too big” .
